The Secret Dream Behind "Tree of Timeless Beauty" — Why The Golden Tree Always Sings

From a rainy puddle reflection on a quiet Tuesday afternoon to glowing swirls of acrylic and golden light. Thoughts, smiles, and paint-splattered fingers straight from Manjari's sunroom easel.

The Secret Dream Behind "Tree of Timeless Beauty" — Why The Golden Tree Always Sings

It was a wet Tuesday afternoon when school got out early because of the thundering rain clouds. While waiting under the school porch, I was looking down at a wide puddle near the big oak tree. The streetlights had just flickered to life, and suddenly the water wasn't gray or muddy anymore — it turned into an ocean of melted butter and liquid honey.

That puddle gave me a quiet feeling in my chest. What if deep beneath the forest soil, roots aren't looking for normal moisture, but are secretly hunting for glowing sunbeams left behind during summer afternoons?

The moment Mama and I walked through our front door, I slipped off my wet rain boots, dumped my backpack right next to the hallway bench, and raced into the sunroom. My studio easel was already waiting with a fresh, heavy 24x30 cotton canvas stretched tight like a tiny drum.

Building the canopy took the most patience. Instead of brushing the paint normally, I dabbed the thick color on with torn kitchen sponges and dry hog-bristle brushes. Mama made hot cardamom cocoa while I layered four different tints of warmth. First came deep ochre, then mango yellow, followed by pure cadmium lemon on top.

Every time a branch branched out into smaller twigs, I hummed a little note. That's why I ended up writing in my notebook that the tree sings! If you look very closely at the spirals, they aren't regular wooden rings — they look just like treble clefs and musical notes whispering to the wind.

When you hang a tree like this in a room, you don't just hang colors; you invite the warm sunlight to stay over even when it's dark and chilly outside. My wish for whoever welcomes this canvas into their home is that whenever you feel tired or gloomy, you can glance at its singing branches and remember that warmth always returns.
